WHAT IS GLOBAL CLASSROOM BY TEC DE MONTERREY
It is an initiative of the Vice-Rectory for International Affairs that aims to link a course from Tecnológico de Monterrey with a course of a partner international university, through a digital environment, using technological tools to connect students in collaborative activities that promote learning in multicultural environments.
To generate experiences of internationalization with meaningful learning, linking the student to a multicultural, collaborative and knowledge integrating environment.
The Global Classroom by Tec de Monterrey model is based on COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning), a teaching and learning methodology developed by Jon Rubin at the State University of New York (SUNY).
COIL combines the four essential dimensions of virtual mobility; it is a collaborative exercise between teachers and students; it makes use of technology and online interaction; it has potential international dimensions; it is integrated into the learning process.
FOR OUR STUDENTS
"It is a very good accomplishment to breakdown the stereotypes… Honestly, I think we accomplished a great thing by making students realize that people are people no matter where they live and that we have the same hopes and dreams.".
Sheila Eldred, Professor @ SUNY Broome
